If you really want to go and don't get tickets before then, just go near croker on the day. There's always tickets floating around.

No concessions for AIF tickets. 80euro a pop.

That really is sickening!!! Have been to so many games and really can't justify 160 quid!!!

It's the All-Ireland final. You can justify it if you want.

This is my 4th 160euro a pop September since 2011; I'll be broke but happy.

My younger brother is a lucky sod.

this old chestnut again. every year the same story.

you have been to so many games. must have meant that the games up to now were a great value. It is structured that way, if you want to have cheaper final tickets, then you will have more expensive earlier round tickets. they will sell out the 83,000 tickets. the price hasnt changed much in the last few years at all for finals, and earlier round prices for kids etc are great value. If you would prefer that the earlier ones were more expensive, then that puts off far more people than it does for the final.

and a last point, anyone with a team in the final should be delighted at the opportunity of being there. there are far more people who's county will never get to a final and they will never have the opportunity about moaning over €80 final tickets. In relative terms, €80 for a final ticket is not off the wall. I dont particularly agree with some early round game pricing structures, but I wouldnt have an issue with the final.

Yup. I was jammy getting it in the first place. Happened to be online when it was launched and saw the article on RTE. Got myself and the younger brother one straight away on the GAA website and never looked back obviously.

I'll never give it up. Even when I'm gone from these shores I'll be keeping it.

€80 for the pinnacle day of Irish Sport? a pittance, winning an AI Final is remembered, the cost is not surely?
I'm looking for 3 for the Hurling and I'm form Clare! the best day out of the year in sporting terms for me.

Same as. I never work or go to college the AIF Football Monday regardless of who's in it. Well, in 2009 I did. Cos , Cork-Kerry.

    €80 is a pittance

On my first year of the season ticket, and got to say that compared to the scramble of previous years, nothing beats being safe in the knowledge that I have my final ticket.

That doesn't stop the scramble for tickets for others who have attended as many if not more Mayo games than me this year, yet are still sticking by the old method of final ticket sourcing, connections and favours.

    Roll on the 18th.

€80 is not too bad. Should be cheaper sections available as an option. Lower Davin Behind the Goals for example. What about the Hill? Will that be split 50 50? Doubt it.

With all the talk of tickets, is this our new information board?

    No their shouldn't.

Hill tickets are cheaper if you really want to scrimp.

It's a privilege to be there on AIF day.

The view is crap from the lower rows of the Davin. it would be no harm to give a discount.
It's wonderful to be there on the day no doubt and and I will pay my money and not complain, this will be my 12th All ireland Final if I get a ticket. but don't call it a privilege if you stump up 80 euros hard earned cash to be there.

Personally I don't have a problem paying 80 euros for a Final ticket even though it works out expensive to bring kids. I think the fact that kids tickets are only 5 euro up to and including the semi finals balances it out.

The bigger problem is getting them..........

It is a privilege to be there. I fail to see what your issue is?

I was in Row F I think last year. I'll have to look again, and I wouldn't have traded it for the world despite the shoite view and the rain.

No issue at all really, I'll gladly take any ticket that comes my way, better be inside the stadium than outside. I don't have an issue either with the GAA giving Discounts for lesser quality seats or whatever. it appears you do

I do yes. Because every discount you give out has to be recouped somewhere else.

Easy say that from your seat in 306, I'm sure the Bruce springsteen concerts more than made up for a few cheap tickets. anyway there should be more ActualFootball talk on this thread.

The likes of the Lower Davin or backs of the upper tiers should be cheaper at like 50. The much sought after middle of the sideline on the Lower Cusack and Hogan should go up to as much as 150. I personally prefer the upper but that's where the most demand is. Only Sport in the world that has a blanket price for every seat. Silly imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,755 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

As a Waterford man i'd love to have the problem of paying 80 quid to see my county in an AI final. Suck it up people how much is it to go to concerts these days, it's the AI final biggest games of the year did ye really expect them to be 30 quid.

Well this thread is just some spurious one re tickets that should be closed.

And yes it's east to say that from my seat in 305 and 306. Seats that I have paid for through the ST since 2009.

So you think having more concerts would be a way that you'd agree with subsidising tickets elsewhere in the ground?

I tell you what some serious crap is talked every year re AIF tickets and your moan is no exception.

    Silly?

The demand is what it is. I don't think that the joe soaps like me and most of the rest that attend games should be expected to sub tickets for these phantom complaints. A a lot of the best seats in the house are actually gratis from the POV of the GAA.

Someone complained that paying 80eurof ro a child's ticket is scandalous and that's how this rant has gone on. Now we should pay 150 for the childs ticket if it's decent?

If the GAA were to raise prices as you say, the same people would then complain that it's unfair. And around and around we go.

    Ok Bonnie

I will put this in bullet points for your easy comprehension.
    • I have not moaned once on this topic, I attempted a civil conversation, this seems beyond you
    • I did not suggest more concerts. I was merely highlighting one of the various revenue streams available
    • Well done for paying for your seat since whenever, I have given the GAA thousands of euro in ticket fees over the years as have many many others. you do not have a monopoly on opinion
    • The arrogant dismissive way in which you approach innocuous conversation on these boards, is perpetuating the Stereotype of the Dublin fan. it is unfair to others.
    • come down off your high horse

    I'll leave the subject there

I'm going to lock the thread as it appears to be a hybrid of the AI Match Thread and the AI Looking for Tickets thread. The usual debate regarding the allocation or those most deserving will find a new home
