    Hi folks,

I wonder if someone could help me id this hedge please.
As seen in the visitor centre in the phoenix park

Also, I see lidl selling what they are calling 9cm connifers for 1.50, would these be suitable for a miniature hedge also ?

    http://www.lidl.ie/en/plantsandflowers.htm?action=showDetail&id=44112

    Thanks in advance
    Rob

The small hedge seems to be box (buxus). Fairly slow growing, needs a clip once or twice a year and gives a good dense hedge.

I don't know what species the Lidl conifers are but generally conifers will not make a miniature hedge in the long term. Many things sold as miniature are really just slow growing, but will reach an ultimate height of 3-5m or more. Many conifers dont appreciate being trimmed either whereas box seems to thrive on it!
