    Folks

    I've been thinking.

I generally tap Audio from the venue's soundboard by splitting their XLR and hooking in a Zoom H4n and a back up is usually to put another Zoom up to the venues speaker.

I am chewing the fat about attaching a Sennheiser AVX Mic to the venue mic aswell...... But there's a bit of expense in that Microphone for solely that so think a Sony voice recorder velcro strapped to the venue Mic would be just as good. Any thoughts on the matter?

what are you looking for this to do for you, separate track of just vocals? if so could you not do a send from the desk to another channel on your zoom of just the vocal mic. Attaching another mic to the mic on stage would be no good if the performer wants to take it off the stand, and there's no way they'd be happy with an sm58 with a lav mic hanging off it in their hand
