I was bringing a JFC Meal Bin home this evening (full of meal)

The bin slipped off the bale carrier and went on its side on the arm of the bale carrier. Its the round meal bin tyle and now there is a dent in the side of it.

Am I best to leave it with the dent in it or push it out

Will it now be weaker as a result of this dent

How are you planning to shove it out? Would there be enough room to work a rubber mallet (long handled one like a sledge)?

Thank God for small mercies though. You were lucky it didnt fall off and hit a car! I've been behind lads carrying them and thought they were an accident waiting to happen. The spacer between the bale handler arms is too narrow and no outside ones = too much play.

I wonder what jfc would say if you emailed them with photos and told them about your mishap? They'd probably cover themselves by saying only designed to be lifted on/off a trailer with bale handler and not for road use.

see them round here putting a ratchet strap around it if they're going a distance, as you say lucky it didn't hit a car

The strap would have to have an in date label on it :)

Maybe you could hear it a bit with a heat-gun. It would make it softer anyway.

a car jack might push it out if its not too 'awkward' shaped, it probably will be weaker too.
Would them bins hold a tonne?

Is it the 1 tonne plastic ones , boiling water on over outside and push it Bach out . My sister years ago her car was hit and it was in garage to get bumper fixed , while it was waiting to be taken in to garage the sun was beating down on it and sure enough it popped out itself
