Hi, so we will be tiling our kitchen backsplash. Exact measured area works out at 2.251sq m, the guy in tile shop gave me 3 boxes, each box is 0.75 sq m so 3 is the exact amount of measured area, he gave an additional 9 tiles for waste but I'm not sure that's enough, tiles are 10x30. Should I go back to shop and get more? We won't be tiling for a weeks so don't want to find out then that we run out and the shop are out of them or something. Any advice? Thanks

How many tiles in a box: 25?
    [ 0.1m by 0.3m = 0.03 sqm
    .75/0.03 = 25]
    Am I wrong?

    Yes it's 25 per box.

Measure the wall/walls to be tiled. Allow full tiles to finish each wall. Then count amount of tiles needed

How exactly do I figure that out? There are a few sockets etc to fit inbetween and a boiler unit which is lower than other cabinets so worried about alot of cuts. Thanks

Just to explain the reason for my paranoia is when we did our bathroom the tiler discovered he was short towards end of tiling and shop(different place) did give us extra tiles when we went back but they were a different shade, it caused a nightmare for us which I don't want to relive in my kitchen. The guy refitting my bathroom took and gave all measurements to tile shop so I trusted all was in order and it delayed the job being finished because of it.

Measure the area to be tiled, add 15% for cuts and breaks and you should be covered. If you want to be over cautious buy an extra box, most shops will take back and refund on full unopened and undamaged boxes.
