Any advice on a place for a 36 year old complete beginner looking to box. Are there any clubs on northside of Dublin for complete beginner. Always wanted to box and need to get fit and lose weight. Am I too old? . Would love to compete if there's a complete novice fight set up? I know white collar boxing does this in Harold's cross. Looking for something a bit cheaper and closer to Artane where I live. Thanks a mil.

I think there's a club of some sort in the Baldoyle Industrial Estate that has adult boxing classes for beginners Tony. I think it may be something like Baldoyle Boxing academy or something?

There's also Underdog Boxing that operates in Dublin City Centre that would suit you for what your after but it's pricey.

Thanks for that. Just saw underdog. It's a bit pricey alright. I'll try and find Baldoyle boxing academy. They have nothing up online. I'll try find them or if anyone has an address or contacts here. Thanks

Ashbourne Box Fit is ran by a father and son team with a strong boxing background, excellent training with a good strong emphasise on the fundamentals of boxing correctly.

I think that crowd in Baldoyle would be more active on Facebook.

Thanks. Ashbourne a bit too far. Can't find that place in Baldoyle. Is it still going?

I had a quick google there myself and can't see anything either. Maybe it's gone?

    What about your local club?

Baldoyle Boxing club are still going strong and moved to new premises in Seagrange Pk , enter via Meadowbrook and follow on to Parkvale and the entrance to the park is there.
Contact details from the IABA website iaba.ie give Ronan Kelly as a contact [Mod note: Mobile number snip - please don't post contact details here - they are available on the IABA site]

Would Baldoyle accept a 36 year old beginner though? I wouldn't want to be wasting people's time, cheers
