    how to disassemble flue pipe?
    hello folks,

I need to separate a 45 degree bend from a straight flue. They are 5 inch single vitreous enamel. The straight section is the female fitting. I assume they were joined using what looks like high temp silicon as it does not appear brittle enough to be fire cement. I have obviously tried a few things but they are stuck fast. Don't want to damage them so wondering if anyone knows a trick for this.

    Many thanks

You could try to slide hacksaw blade down to cut the silicon if that doesn't work it's really just brute force and ignorance

    thanks robbie,

impossible to get a blade in there. I wonder would heating it from the inside soften it any?

Highly unlikely as if it's high temp silicon it's designed for heat
It's really down to brute force
If you can clamp one bit and try and twist but by bit it won't be easy but it's either that or scrap it
