In the end I exchanged it for a Philip's airfryer as it was more suitable for my situation. But there are times when I do miss the Actifry. It is much better for chips and it has a larger capacity than the airfryer. If you can get this for €63, grab it. It will pay for itself in a couple of months with reduced takeway and oven costs.

Appears to be out of stick everywhere

Thanks for the heads up, looks like a great deal!

Have been meaning to pick one of these up for a while now, never used one but have heard good things about them :)

Looks like the deal is running until December 16th so hopefully they'll get more in stock by then, actually looks like it'd make a good Christmas present for the sister :D

I have the same size one with removable plates which is a ideal for washing. Probably why its cheap as they can be hard to clean.

I also have the "5" portion one with removal plates and IMO they're a piece of junk. The GF grills have deteriorated in quality over time and they are now cheap and nasty pieces of junk.

Also you'd be hard pushed to cook 5 pieces of anything on them. 2 x 200g filet steaks barely fit and they don't 'grill' they stew as the element is crap and does not maintain heat evenly across the plates and the heat is not constant.

This is a regular thing with Argos. They advertise items at 'huge' discounts but they never have the item in stock

More likely this is one of Argos phantom bargains that are never in stock, usually they have been brought in from the last catalogue.

Easy to clean if you lightly spray it in advance with spray oil

Ah OK, I didn't know they did that, good to know.

I'd be interested in picking up something similar to this, is there any particular model or brand that you'd recommend?

    Not really.

There was plenty of stock countrywide when this bargain was first posted 4 weeks ago!

TBH mate I'm in no position to make recommendations. I'm just a grumpy bollíx who complains about poorly made crap that's overpriced.

I bought one last month which hasn't been used and I've no use for it. I'd sell to anyone for the same price. Around South Dublin, pm me if anyone's interested.
