    Hi,

    Wondering what options I have. I got a bottom first molar extraction 5 years ago. (The dentist offered me a choice of either root canal or pull it out, explaining that it would cost about €800 for a root canal but sometimes they're not very successful.)

    Anyway I have a gap but I would like some sort of false tooth. However after reading threads on ill fitting uncomfortable false teeth I'm not sure what to do.

    What options do I have? Are there any good options which are functional for chewing food as opposed to just cosmetic? I'd like something which will stay put.

    Thanks for reading.

    Your options are;
    nothing
    denture
    bridge
    implant

    The implant is often the "best" but depends on if the bone is adequate for implant placement (among other things) and is the most expensive option... it is the most like a tooth that you can get at this stage though...

    Start by discussing the options with your dentist and go form there...
