Protecting a Macbook?

Hi,

New Mac owner here, wondering how to protect it.

On my old Windows machine I had a combo of AVG and Malware Bytes, with CCleaner used often enough. No case.

This time around I don't want AVG, it became a virus in itself with all it's awful pop ups. Malware Bytes has been installed but what cheap/free AV do you know of that are not intrusive and competent?

Also looking for a neoprene sleeve for it. There's an Amazon Basics one but packaging costs the same as it and tbh I don't need to buy 20 quid worth of stuff for free delivery right now. Any recommendations? I'm tempted by Incase's stuff but it's seriously pricey regardless of quality. It's a 2015 13" Retina.

Hey there, I'm a pro mac user for the last 5 years and I can yell you that you don't need any anti-virus software as Mac is waay more secure than Windows. The only thing that I would recommend is MalwareBytes. Everything else literally does no good. I can't think of any sleeves off of amazon as I'm not familiar with their offerings. I have one that I bought off of the Apple Online Store. Its been used and abused over the last 4 years but still in almost mint condition! It's by a company called "Incase". Hope that helps

with regards to the neoprene case, incase are amazing and worth the price they charge. You've just bought at €1500+ laptop, €40-50 to protect it whilst it's in a bag is well worth it imo.
