The triton t90z has been discontinued. There's nothing wrong with them but they are no longer in production. This is why the 9.5kw is so cheap. The triton t90sr 9kw is better value. It's a silent shower & you can get one for €259 in chadwicks. They are €290 in Woodies so not a good idea to buy one there.

Thanks a lot for this. Never heard of chadwicks before but 259 is the cheapest T90SR i was able to find.

Will definitely go for this :)

I'm looking into the Triton t90sr 9kw now myself. How much do you reckon it would cost to get it installed by an installer? Currently there is only a gravity fed shower there

It depends a little on the layout of your home and where in Ireland you live. If you live in Dublin you can expect to pay around 650 Euro or so supplied and fitted. I have a triton t90sr myself and can vouch on how quiet they are.

Good stuff thanks, I have a new baby on the way in a few days so a silence shower is good!

My other concern is water pressure. How is the t90sr compared to previous showers you had? On the Triton site it says 'pumped electric shower, perfectly suited for use with low pressure water system'. I thought electric showers couldn't be pumped, so I'm wondering how good it is even in low water pressure areas

A mains fed shower connected to the mains can't be pumped. A pumped electric shower takes it's water supply from the attic tank. All 9kw showers have the same pressure. You'll get between 3.5 and 5 litres per minute depending on the time of year. Water in attic is warmer today than middle of January so the end result is better pressure in the summer than winter

Need to replace an xr, how much would that be supplied and fitted as a replacement for an xr? Is the sr an exact replacement for an xr?

The triton t90sr silent shower is a good replacement. Prices in Dublin are 340 to 400 supplied & fitted. Outside of Dublin I'm guessing 400 to 450. It'll depend on how much competition your local shower fitter has

If its a direct replacement (and this is the diy forum) you could chance fitting yourself, reduces the overall cost, and nothing like the satisfaction of looking at a job and thinking 'I did that'
