    Hi,

What does everyone think about wearing an oatmeal linen two-piece suit (without a tie) to a music event in early September at night?

    It'll be a pub-based event

A bit summer-y but September can be warm.

Biggest problem I see is trying to get all the beer stains (and there will be lots!) out of the suit which is probably dry-clean only.

    So I wouldn't do it.

Not a fan of linen suits at all. Also, I don't think very light colored suits work in Ireland.

Jeans/chinos and a blazer would be more appropriate for a pub based event if you're trying to look smart.

Think this sounds overdressed for a pub event!

Agreed. It just seems unnecessarily overdressed for pub gigs which are usually held in rather dark and packed venues so you have the drink spillage issues and the fact that what you wear in such venues is not really seen or noticed. Your outfit sounds nice but seems more suited to a book launch or art gallery cheese and wine reception or maybe a casual outdoor summer wedding.
