Bonding advise needed

So went back to my orthodontist this year as 1 of my front teeth moved a couple of years ago when I got a dig in the mush breaking up a fight :mad

Anyway I had to wear a little ecco brace for a few months and it pushed it back great. But the tooth beside it is a little worn or smaller. My orthodontist recommended to get my dentist to put bonding on it, grand.

So went to dentist today for a check up and said it to him and he advised against it, saying because its my 2 front teeth if he put bonding on it as soon as i bite into something hard the bonding will break or it will happen over time! Now Im in a dilemma as what to do!! I know its a vanity think but I spent so much money on my teeth years ago I wanted my perfect smile back..

Someone suggested to get my dentist to file a bit of my other tooth to get them to match but heard dentists don't like doing this.

Has anyone any experience of getting bonding done to their front teeth will it be worth it? or will it just not last...

You could ask your dentist about getting a crown.

Whats the difference in a crown & bonding?

It very much depends on the situation in the mouth. If we are talking about a very small amount of material just on the edge then a crown sounds a bit too invasive and matching a singe tooth crown in terms of colour to a natural tooth is quite hard to do. If you bite is favourable then bonding may work well provided that the bite is taken into account. Aletrnatively a night guard may help to protect the bonding work. BUt again it very much depends on how your bite is.
