Struggling to find assistance

    Well lads and ladies,

    Last year my girlfriend completed a plc 5 childcare. She had no financial assistance but was able to work 12 hours a week, which didn't provide much but enough for her to live on.

    This year my girlfriend is doing a plc 6 in childcare. She is currently working in a creche and makes around €260 every 2 weeks so isn't entitled to BTEA. Through SUSI she is only entitled to €33 a week, which is pathetic if you ask me.

    She can stay working in the creche but would rather not as she wants to give the course her full attention, and would only be making around €70 a week.

    Is there any financial help we havent thought of or don't know about?
