Just looking for some advice please.

Have been applying for a few jobs lately which would be based in the UK.

I've sent my CV and the majority have came back looking for a complete history (back to when I was 16) and for all gaps to be filled in.

I've spent time travelling and I worked in a lot of places from 16-22, through school and college etc)

Would it be ok to just list these dates and where I worked or would I need to include a synopsis of duties and role.

For times I spent travelling would I put these in between positions or list positions first and later list what I was doing in the gaps between employment.

Is there any likelihood that positions 15yrs + ago will be checked out or instead of listing 10jobs that I held between 16-22 (some temping) could I just go with one and state that I was there for a few years, little white lie?

The role I'm applying for would be linked to my current role and they are impressed with my current CV and experience.

Just a pain listing everything I have done the last almost 20 years on a cv.

Are they likely to do a background check if you get the job?

    I wouldn't think so.

My CV at the minute covers the last 12 years, 9 in my current role.

I just feel a lot is not relevant and going back to 16 when I was flipping burgers is a little pointless.

Main thing is if it's fine to just do it as one / two lines e.g.

1998 McDonalds - Part Time role during Secondary School.

Also where to put periods of unemployment, when I was travelling, in between positions or afterwards, in a short paragraph.

    Thanks

That sounds fine, put the unemployment and travel in chronological order.

If they are going to do a background check they will expect you to be able to back up what's on your c.v. 100%

I know someone who didn't get a job due to inaccurate details that didn't stand up on background check and they are much more common in the UK than here.
