VW Passat 2012. 65km. Creaking, rubbing, crackling sound coming from passenger side dash. It is driving me insane. seems to be morning times mostly so I think it is temperature related. likely plastic dash rubbing off metal as it expands/shrinks.

I think silicone spray or sealent strips would help In terms of the contact noise. problem is I have no idea how to access such points behind the dash, any ideas? possibly through the glove box.

    any help appreciated.

Are you sure it's inside the dash and not where the dash meet the door?

Maybe check the pollen filter housing is secured properly, it's located behind the glove box iirc.

I've given up trying to isolate the various noises from my Passat dash (2011). Have tried silicone, pads, matchsticks, you name it. Wish VW would have designed this better.
