Best way to build an Alcove wardrobe

Hi everyone. Need advice on the above. The space I'm filling is a stepped alcove. In is about 1 1/2 foot off the floor. I currently have 2 chest of drawers in it. What I want to do is lay a piece of timber across the chests and build shelves up over them. And then a frame around the alcove to hang doors to close it all off ( hope it makes sense) the space size is 5 ft wide by 7ft high.
I was told doors only come in size 24". This would mean I need three doors. And in turn not able to open the chests. Is there any way round this or to fit just 2 doors. All help is much appreciated. Any questions. Please ask and I will try my best to answer.

    if you've 5ft, that's 150cm, would you consider a 1M + 0.5M ikea wardrobe carcasses? they come in a 200cm height.

When you say a carcasses. Is that just the frame or full wardrobe. But I have 2 chest of drawers in there aswell

Yes the full wardrobe frame, based on your description this might be an elevated set up so you'd need good support under the frame. You could then kit out the wardrobe frame with baskets / drawers etc...

Your problem is the doors are going to be too wide and won't look great. You can probably get louverd doors that width, but still they look a bit old/crap.
