Why no attempt to extradite rapist from Brazil?

Last February, the Brazilian supreme court cleared the way for the extradition of fugitive ex-solicitor Michael Lynn back to Ireland.

This proves that extradition between two countries can still take place even if there is no extradition agreement between the countries.

So why doesn't the Irish government try to have Brazilian man Adriano Kiel, who was convicted of rape in 2005 but escaped back to his home country while on bail awaiting sentencing?

Given your username this seems a slightly odd enquiry given the answer.

Are you asking why Brazil might extradite an Irish citizen to Ireland but not a Brazillian citizen? Most countries are reluctant/dont extradite their own citizens.

You may ask the Irish government yourself.
