    Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place however maybe someone can advise me.

Am i allowed to request what information my employer holds regarding me, i.e contracts, interviews, reports, disciplinaries etc?

Does a freedom of information or data protection act apply here or is this at the discretion of my employer?

Any advice on this would be great.
    Thanks

Yes. You have a right to all of your "personal data" under the Data Protection Acts. Here's the guide from the Commissioner. You'll be making a Section 4 request.

    Technically Yes.

In practical terms its a bad idea. Leads to friction. Why do you want it?

Does it need to be a formal request. When I was a civil servant, I would ask to see my personal file once every couple of years, just to be sure that nothing had got onto it that should not be there. No hard feelings ever experienced, HR understood it was my right to check it, under their watchful supervision of course.

In the days where more studied Classical Greek, little notes in Greek letters or in actual Greek could be written on such files.

    Thanks for the info.

Something as serious as this they would have shown their proof by now so i want to ask for my data to basicaly prove to them i didnt.

    Ill make a formal request.
