In need of some help posting for a friend of mine. He's been split up with his ex nearly 5 years they have a 5 year old son never had any problems seeing him till recently she stopped all access for no good reason at all. Last time he's seen his son was June of this year court said no date until November 30th! He's literally losing his mind he's falling into a state of depression having suicidal thoughts he can't cope with not seeing him. Question is does anybody please know if this court date can be brought forward ?!!

Legal advice can't be sought here. For for free legal advice contact FLAC. In the meantime get in and see the GP and get referred if needed. If you feel there is an imminent danger then dial 999 and get your friend evaluated in the local hospital.

For some reason I can't edit posts. To add even if the court date can be brought forward don't expect anything to be a quick solution if at all. Start dealing with the mental health repercussions now, don't hang on to things being resolved at some unknown date at court, which even if it goes the way one party hopes may take months to get enforced.

Id suggest you get your friend to a gp or talk to the Samaritans ,
Especially if the claims of suicidal thoughts are true

unfortunately thats the time frame for family court..its clogged to the extreme and especially after the summer break,if he has a court order than usually a breach is 21 days for a vourt daye but if there is none theres not much he can do at the moment.

refer him to his go immeidatly and just be there for him until he gets to court

Not great form to stop regular access after five years, especially if there is maintenance being paid and nothing substantial has changed. A good solicitor should be able to help your friend.
