    Hi,

I found out last week that my mum has been diagnosed with Myelodysplasia (a.k.a. MDS) - a type of cancer. She's in her fifties, I'm in my twenties.

I've not had much success in identifying groups for people in my situation - "children" of sufferers - ideally in Dublin city centre and after work. I'd much appreciate if anyone could point me to one, if it exists. Apologies if this contravenes the charter!

Start with Irish Cancer Society who may be able to point you in the right direction.

And you could try ARC who have support centres on Eccles St: 01 8307333 (Northside) and the South Circular Road: 01 7078880 (Southside)

Not sure about after work hours support facilities, but hopefuly either one can help you.

Hope all goes well for your Mum,
    Best wishes.

You could check on meetup.com,they might have something. I have MS and found a great group for young people with MS on there. Maybe even some groups on Facebook might be great for people with parents with cancer.
Failing that, why not spread the word and set up your own group if you feel up to it :)
