Unknown Origin of Debris of some kind

I hope this is the most appropriate place to post this. Came across a mound of debris in our room out the back garden. The room is pretty much a self contained flat with a shower and stove and bed, and it's pretty clean. But having not been up there for a few days, it just appeared, leading me to believe maybe it was caused by a pest of some kind.
Actually when we moved in last year there was similar stuff there too, but I guessed it's returned. Any help in identifying where it may of come from appreciated. Photo attached,

Could you get a better pic, that one is too blurry to identify what it is. Also a pic of the corner of the room to show adjacent windows, ceiling etc. As it is, it is too difficult to establish what the scale is - judging by the grain on the floor boards it is probably quite a small heap. Are there any gaps under the skirting there, or between the floor boards? Did you make the gap in the pile either side of the join in the boards?

Is there any chance it could be soot or ash from the stove that has blown across the floor?

Yes, we have a spot in one corner our conservatory where we see similar stuff happening. There are certainly ants under it as they keep popping out in various places on the outside too in the same general area.

Ah yes, ants, that certainly could be it.

Apologies for the quality of the image, it was taken on a phone, after which the debris was vacuumed up! But thank you all for the responses, I'll assume it's Ants and take it from there.

I'd hazard a guess and say that its most likely flue lining insulation that surrounds the flue, is this near the stove?

Seen a lot that was Vermiculite mixed with Sand though in an attempt to cut costs.
