    Hi.

Hoping for a recommended system. Google has no end of proposals.
Family who wish to allocate WiFi within a house. Kids need to study, yet some devices need to be kept on.
Would ideally prefer a system that can individually allocate WiFi times to numerous devices from a master device. Naturally value and ease of set up are critical.

Edit. Actually value is a subjective word....what price is education and results....WiFi available with kids studying is akin to us 30 years ago studying with an arcade game of StarWars switched on and available beside us!!

    Thanks

You don't say what type of connection you have.

I have heard good things about the Netgear parental control functions. It comes with opendns adult content filtering built in and gives lots of individual user device options.

I set this up for a few people and it's a great job

Lidl have a wireless repeater for €25 every now and again, it can be setup to relay your WiFi, but also set to turn its WiFi on and off on a schedule

Set your home broadband DNS to 208.67.222.123 to block porn sites, and change WiFi password, to keep kids out

Plug lidl relay into your router using a network cable, and give it a name and different password

Set your devices up to connect to router (works 24x7) and kids devices connect to lidl WiFi that set to cut out at 10pm

Very reliable, cheap and Only disadvantage is its a lot harder for you to look at porn

Set your home broadband DNS to 208.67.222.123 to block porn sites

It would take kids 2 mins to Google to get around this with a static DNS to Google DNS on the device itself. You would need to have the router filtering and redirecting all DNS traffic which is how the Netgear does it.

    Thanks so much.
I have to look at all those options.
Has anyone experience with this system which has the master conrol as being an app with a lot of claimed functions?

Never heard of it. It's crazy that they give no specs of the wireless device they're selling

You still haven't said what type of connection you have this will determine what type device you can use

    Hi all
    Just to add
The only spec i found for Koala on Amazon is
    Wireless N 802.11 150M Router
Does that help much in defining suitability for type of connection I have?
    Thanks
