Back to work

I have left work back in April due to my 2 year battle with Depression & Anxiety. I did not qualify to leave on Illness benifit so I applied for Disability Allowance, also in April.
I was declined this on the basis of "my condition was expected to improve" even though i've been suffering for over 2 years.
I have appealed this 5-6 weeks ago, explaining why I think I deserve it, the serious of my condition etc..
I went to my local social welfare officer and was put on Supplementary Welfare Allowance of €100 weekly.
I explained in my appeal this simply was not enough long-term.
Financially i'm in a rut, ive had to stop my counselling, my medication is expensive etc..

So my question - ive recieved a job offer, part time 12 hours a week max.

Is it possible to take this offer as regabilitave work while on my supplementary allowance without it affecting my DA appeal?
Ive read that you can earn up to €120 weekly that wont affect payments, but is it the same case while waiting on a decision?
I simply cant afford to keep living on this little money and dont know what else to do then try get back out working.

What time frame did your doctor put as to the expected duration of your illness and recovery when submitting the application? If it was under twelve months that's generally an automatic refusal.

Did you include any consultant's report with your application?

Based on having written various reports in support of applicants for DA and any subsequent appeal I would see starting the job before the appeals process has been exhausted as going against you. If possible try to hold off on commencing the job if you are hoping for the original decision to be overturned.
