Disability Allowance & Work

I have left work back in April due to my 2 year battle with Depression & Anxiety. I did not qualify to leave on Illness benifit so I applied for Disability Allowance, also in April.
I was declined this on the basis of "my condition was expected to improve" even though i've been suffering for over 2 years.
I have appealed this 5-6 weeks ago, explaining why I think I deserve it, the serious of my condition etc..
I went to my local social welfare officer and was put on Supplementary Welfare Allowance of €100 weekly.
I explained in my appeal this simply was not enough long-term.
Financially i'm in a rut, ive had to stop my counselling, my medication is expensive etc..

So my question - ive recieved a job offer, part time 12 hours a week max.

Is it possible to take this offer as regabilitave work while on my supplementary allowance without it affecting my DA appeal?
Ive read that you can earn up to €120 weekly that wont affect payments, but is it the same case while waiting on a decision?
I simply cant afford to keep living on this little money and dont know what else to do then try get back out working.

Op disability allowance is for people who genuinely can't work, if you are already back to work you obviously can so perhaps they were correct in turning you down.
I know it's hard to be left short of money but perhaps find other ways of coping with your illness. Unfortunately this is why the waiting time for DA is so long.

ETA in hindsight my post was a bit abrupt, I apologise op.
Rehabilitative work needs to be signed off by a doctor would yours be willing to do this? I think a call to citizens advice to see if you can start rehabilitative work before being awarded DA might be a good idea though. It seems a bit back to front but you're in quite a pickle.

There's a specific forum relating to State Benefits so I've moved your thread there. Please note that new forum charter now applies. Best of luck.
