    Can you use "a" after a comma. Typing a sentence on Microsoft and am unsure of the correct grammar to use.

    I don't see why not. Is there a specific case that Word is telling you is wrong?

    It's rather the space after a comma the OP is confused about I think. Yes OP, you should follow a comma with a space.

    i know sometimes there can be an issue with using 'and' after a comma, but I never heard of it for 'a'.
