How to tell if phone is unlocked?

    Without putting in a sim from another provider, is there anyway to tell if a phone is unlocked or not?
    Phone is iPhone 6 currently with Vodafone sim.

    I dont think theres anything on the iphone itself to indicate if its unlocked. You could give vodafone or apple a quick call to check the status of lock.

    Run the imei through an online status checker.

    That's a big gamble to take. A lot of them are not accurate.
