Hi, i'm a 37 male, 6ft 3" , 13.5 stone , physically fit , very active .... Had been training to do the Dublin Half Ironman triathlon over the last 6 months but unfortunately one evening while out with friends a month ago I suddenly felt light headed and fainted ... The next day i went to doctor to get checked out ... After numerous test, the Holter Monitor report showed a Salvo of irregular BCT, 4- beat salvo of VT ... After ECHO, Stress test, chest X-ray , MRI ... I have a Catheter Ablation procedure due in October ! Anyone have this procedure done ? .. Plus what are the long term physical limitations ... Is strenuous exercise off the menu completely or will i have to get used to walking the dog alot ?!? Thanks in advance for any replys.

I had an ablation a couple of years ago for SVT at the age of 48, was back on the bike a week later and rode in my first race two months later, don't quote me on this but my memory is that the docs told me that it takes the insertion site (in my groin in my case) longer to heal than the actual site in the heart where they did the ablation.

Of course your underlying condition may be different to mine so obviously you'll have to be guided by the professionals.

There was a previous thread on this which has a bit more info.
