I'm told there is somewhere in Dublin where they measure you, assess your stand and gait and then fit you with the best backpack for you. I don't recall the name or location though. Does anyone know of such a service?

All I can tell you is if you are buying a Lowe Alpine rucksack then the shop should have a gauge thingy that fits over your back and indicates the size settings that should be used on the rucksack.

Most rucksacks have adjustment for back length so you can get whatever one suits your needs and then adjust it to fit.

https://lowealpine.com/eu/user-notes/how-to-fit/ and https://lowealpine.com/uk/buyers-handbook/what-size-pack/ might be of some help.

Reading a bit further also discovered this about rucksack sizes for women that I didn't know about https://lowealpine.com/uk/buyers-handbook/nd-fit/ .

Thanks for that, my3cents - they're good links. I recently did a week's hiking in Norway with a Vango Contour 60+10 and it was very comfortable. But as winter approaches, I'll need more capacity for bulkier clothing, sleeping bag, crocs instead of flip-flops, etc. Thought while I'm upgrading I might as well get a pack that will see me out!
