Repeating Just Maths?

Is this possible as I failed my Hl Maths paper and otherwise got points for my course. Can I just repeat Maths. And if so do I have to actually attend school or can the school just broker me a place in the LC. I don't really want to repeat by going to school as I have a full time job and a very very good maths tutor who used to be a teacher who doesn't charge me much, in fact it would be cheaper to get the grinds three times a week.

    Thanks

    Peter

Why do you want to repeat maths if you got the course?

You can repeat maths as an external student. No need to go to school. The application form will be on www.examinations.ie around Christmas. Cost will be about €110. You can ask a school to allow you to sit the exam in their centre or simply select one of the specialised exam centres listed on the form.

In the same boat as Original poster.. got more points than needed but failed HL maths so won't get the course as don't meet minimum requirements 😑😑.
Also planning to repeat maths only but can you do ordinary level when repeating or must I stick to higher level...

Lots of courses -science, engineering , computing - need a pass in maths as part of the minimum entry requirements... also most universities need you to have passed maths regardless of points scored...
An E grade in HL paper is useless in these cases but a C3 in OL would be enough to get the course.... very unfair..

Will your E grade not be counted as a pass next year seeing as 30% will be considered a pass in 2017?

I'm not sure, are the 3 level institutions changing the admissions policy?
Going to get the papers rechecked, hope to scratch up to a D, never failed a maths exam before. Shocked tbh
