hi anyone else having problems with saorsat reception in rain ?
dish is triax 1.1 meter solid dish fitted on groundstand on concrete base with ka lnb at focal point, dish has clear unobstructed view of sky, installation just over 1 year old with 15 meters tr100 cable installed then.
reception is perfect in dry weather and mild rain.
receiver is triax hd receiver and was professionally installed.
steps taken to help so far.
dish allignment tested with professional meter with correct ka sat settings preset for ka sat transponder.
ka lnb changed for different model which provided slight improvement on satellite meter.
dish looks perfect physically with no bangs or marks.
receiver was also changed with no improvement.
dish is also receiving bbc channels from astra 2.
this signal remains perfect when saorsat drops out due to rain.
saorsat faded out last night but it was very wet.
    dish allignment tested twice.
is anyone else using this saorsat having problems?
dish is in west cork and 1.1 meter is recommended size.thanks

I presume by reading your post that the Saorsat ka Lnbf is directly at the end of the support arm and pointed directly at the centre of the dish.

I have found adjusting the Lnbf, moving it towards or away from the dish an improvement on signal and quality.
You may have already done this.

Has Saorsat reception ever worked for you in heavy rain, or is this a new issue after a year?

I have found that I may loose Saorsat for a second or two in extreme rain downpour, but it's rare.
In heavy rain it generally works fine.
But I will pay closer attention to this now, and see if it's more frequent.

I'm using an 80cm dish in North Wexford.

    Hi thanks for your reply,
yes saorsat was ok for the most part during the year, there were a few momentary blips last christmass/new year when the weather was very bad but its definitely worse now,
I will try your idea to adjust the lnb again.

Also after aligning the dish to 9e, I actually got my young lad to watch signal quality and strength bars on the tv, while I fine tuned the dish from outside, we communicated by mobile.

I know it a little bit of a novice way, but it worked out perfect and didn't take to long.
