In the Boys [sic] U18 Conor O'Donnell has 2/2 and is paired tomorrow with White on board 6 against a 2431 opponent. That game should be live from 2pm Irish time I think. There is a link on the ICU site and results can be seen at
    http://chess-results.com/tnr233629.aspx?lan=1&art=2&rd=3&fedb=IRL&flag=30&wi=821

Luke Scott has 1/2 and Rudolf Tirziman 0/2.

In the Girls U16 Diana Mirza's game was live today; unfortunately she lost and has 1/2.

In the B16 section Robbie Kildea has 1/2.

Ireland doesn't have a player in the World Junior, because it's a long way to travel I guess. Maybe Conor will play in that next year?

No takers this year for India.
Last year one "Junior" went to Khanty-Mansysk
Next year its in Tarvisio, Italy 1-Oct-2017 16-Oct-2017 so hopefully both places - "Junior" and "Girls" - will be taken up.

    Thanks for that info.
Diana and Conor won today; presumably they would first in line for those places in 2017 if they continue their present promising development.

    Luke and Rudolf lost.

So now Conor is one of only four players on 3/3 in his tournament and has Black tomorrow against the Armenian; the others all have the IM title already.

Meanwhile Jeffery Xiong (born in 2000), who impressed in the US championship back in April, has won the World Junior with a round to spare. He's already a 2633 GM.
