Can anyone recommend an alternative to a large storage Time Capsule. They're really pricey so looking for something else thats reliable and obviously wifi enabled.

    Cheers!

I'm using a WD MyCloud that I picked up as a re-certified using a bargain alert at some stage - http://store.wdc.com/store/wdeu/en_GB/DisplayCategoryProductListPage/ThemeID.563961000/parentCategoryID.21056100/categoryID.69923100/WD_Outlet/Recertified_Networked_Solutions

Reliable is a relative term for spinning rust drives, so ideally you should have a second tier backup - but that applies across the board.

You're better off using TimeMachine along with something else,
In my case I use TimeMachine, Backblaze for an entire online backup and Amazon Cloud drive for unlimited photo backup online.
I'm tempted buy a sub for Amazon.com cloud drive which is unlimited and you can backup anything to it

Synology NAS do a whole load of other things bar just back up. Well worth a look.

After buying a 1TB Time Capsule in 2011, I wouldn't buy one again for Time Machine backups - I currently use an Airport Extreme with a 3TB WD hard drive, but the advantage there is that I can change/upgrade either the disc or the Extreme without having to change the other device.

I also use Backblaze for an off-site backup.
