Saorview in Beacon South Quarter Apartment

Hi. I've finally become fed up paying 85 a month to Virgin for their basic package.

Satellite dishes are forbidden in my complex, so does anybody have any experience of Saorview in a big apartment complex? E.g. Quality of reception, easiness to set up etc.

I have an 8 year old Samsung HD ready tele, so hopefully I can buy a receiver box?

Thanks in advance for any help

You do realise that Saorview is only the Irish stations? In Sandyford you are so near 3Rock that you could get a signal on a wet finger. Try a cheap set top aerial from your local Euro shop. Don't be fooled into paying big money for any "boosted/amplified" thing. They are a con. At 8 y.o. your Tv may not be Saorview compatible and need a separate box. Others here may know if you can post the model number. If you have a south facing balcony, it may be possible to erect a discreet dish to receive the UK channels. There are several "camouflaged" models available.
