    Hi.

I am looking for some help if possible
I live in meath navan. In johnstown.
I have just got the kids a small little bike and quad and now looking for somewhere close to home to bring the kids on the bikes very now and then.

The are still very young 5 and 8 so does not have to be a track a straight farmers field would be perfect. Does anyone know any farmers.
These bikes are 4 stroke and small so would not rip grass or wreck a field.

Any help on this would be great. They have all the safety gear and won't be going fast so will be ready safe.

I was been looking for somewhere for some time now and still no joy so would be great to get sorted and bring the kids out now and then.

    Thanks

    Sean

It's unlike;y that farmers public liability insurance would cover an actvity like that, there's a track near me in Rochfortbridge in westmeath.....might be worth a try

Hi thank you for your replay.
I have my own insurance that will cover everything but as I said the kids are very small and bikes are not big or there does be no notice from.them so it's only something small I am looking for.

I will Google that place is Rochford bridge thanks.

But sure where's the fun in suing yourself? Besides, your premium would go up! :D

fyi it is not something small you are looking for.

and you might want to check with your insurance covers you outside of proper tracks

    Agreed.

OP I'm sure you're 100% well intentioned, but a farmer would be plain nuts to allow you in.

I would say you'll have to look for somewhere public / remote. Up remote forestry roads or something like that. Close to us here we have a huge area of bog that has a network of old tracks that would be ideal, but unfortunately we're the other side of the country.

Property owners are always a target for compo, have heard where an insurance company paid their client, then turned and sued the landowner.
I know we're comiing across here as tight h***rs

There was a decent enough motocross track in Broadford, in Meath, however some utterly waste of space managed to break his arm while on the track, and tried to sue them, as a result they had to close down. No farmer in his right mind would willingly allow a stranger as such inside his gate with kids buzzing around the place on bike. This is the harsh reality of our messed up legal system and culture of suing for any reason. And I've seen both sides of the argument, I've spend enough hours on a bike on tracks all over the country and even had a supercross track on the farm here before ha, which I was incredibly careful about which few select friends I'd let on it.

I would hardly let my nieces/ nephews onto my land to do that never mind complete strangers. Insurance would never cover it and premiums are dear enough as it is.

Theres a motocross track in gormonstown beside the train station near bettystown ,might be a bit too hairy for the kids. There's a quiet beach there that you could bring them on though. 30min from navan tops
