If I'm flying Ryanair from Dublin, can I get behind security in T2? I used to work in a café in T2 and I'd love to call in and say hello to everyone.

Yep, you can walk from T1 to T2 once you have gone past security, just follow the signs for the 400 gates (about 5 min walk).

I know that way, but is it possible to actually get through the security check into departures from T2? I know the T1 check is quite close to T2, but it's also miles away from the Ryanair desks so it may be one orthe other if not.

I'm not 100% sure if your boarding pass will allow you through when scanned, I've never tried it.

You can go through security in any terminal. Have done it before.

Are shops in T2 better and more varied than T1? I am flying from T1 next month and I won't mind to go 1 hour earlier to go to T2 if there are any nice shops.

To be honest, on pay day or staff discount day I would always go to T1 after work instead of T2. T1 has a Superdry, Pandora, Boots, and a general bigger selection of shops. T2 is mainly cafés, with a Swatch, a WHSmith, Sunglasses Hut and one touristy shop. Both have a duty free too.

When I was last in T2 I found it very lacking compared to T1, seems to be a lot more shops there/places to eat there.
