Entirely depends on your budget. A tailor will make you a good bespoke suit but would be pricey enough

Give Louis Copelands a ring and ask them if they have anything in your budget, or if they could recommend anywhere.

    It's worth a go anyway.

OP, I got a top notch suit in Best Menswear in Mahon Point Cork - 3 piece, cost €280 and I'm very happy with it.

Not sure on your measurements, I'd be slim enough but they've decent options there for your budget.

Get a list of places to visit and hit them up in one day where possible - that should see you get sorted in my experience.

M&S often do larger sizes but your budget is very tight. If you are not part of the wedding party could you get away with a good sports jacket to team up with trousers you already have.

Would you try one of the hire shops. Handiest thing might be to just rent a suit

I've a few weddings next year as well so I'd prefer to buy. I'll just need a new shirt for different occasions

TM Lewins in dublin are great. I got a smashing suit in there a couple of years back and they took up the trousers free of charge. Very helpful and lovely staff. I will 100% buy my next suit there.

Went to Louis Copelands in galway last year for a suit....5ft 9 and 18 stone...not easy to get a suit to fit....explained this to the assistant and honestly he was brilliant....straight away told me to relax, talked through a load of options, got suits for me to try, measured up and the following week went and collected the suit, again made me feel very relaxed, tried on the suit and it fitted like a glove....brilliant they were....touch expensive but your getting professional assistants...that's worth the extra money

Not sure if you picked a suit up yet, but I'd recommend Jim Markey in Drumcondra. I'm not far off the OP size and got a very nice 3 piece suit for a wedding last month. On-site tailor, who took the jacket and waist coat in, let the trousers down; all at no additional cost (and all well under the OP budget). They have more expensive suits, but was not pushed to go above budget.
