    Hi guys.

Moved house and couldn't take my CRT TV with me for my consoles.

Wondering is there an alternative to a CRT that'll still display them well? Or will I just try to find another CRT? Money is an issue so that'll be limited.

Other than a CRT the next best option is a XRGB. Displays games through HDMI so no input lag from a HD TV upscaler. However it's still not perfect but the closest you will get.

I've an XRGB-Mini framemeister myself, awesome device, but as Retr0 says its not perfect. At the moment its hooked up to my projector in my home office and doing a fantastic job.

Not the cheapest thing in the world.

    A smaller CRT? :D

I'm making do with a 14 inch at the moment and it's working out fine. Lightguns and all still responding perfectly.

If cost is a factor just scope out Adverts and Done Deal for a cheap Sony CRT, as O1s1n says, 14" is great solution, and they are pretty compact.
The great thing about those modern Sony CRTs is that they typically also have RGB on the scart, so the games consoles will never give a nicer image.
And you'll probably spend a maximum of €25 on one.
For the same money you'll get a 21", 24" or 29" Sony set, but then they do get heavier and more space demanding the larger they get, in particular in terms of depth.
So, if it's something to inhabit a general purpose room, then the 14" set as described is perfect.

XRGB is mental expensive so that's out I would imagine.

Just get another CRT - one that fits your space & budget. :)

Yeah, everything Micomsoft make seems to be overpriced. I got their Xcapture-1 device a little while back and that worked out a few quid more expensive than the XRGB!

Still, they are a class above other devices I think

I have a 28" CRT at home I'll be dumping, based in South Dublin if that's any use to you
