Booting up issues HP Envy Laptop

Hey folks, need some of your expertise.

I have a HP Envy laptop with win 10 and a Trion SSD hard drive. In the last day or two it has begun to struggle to boot up, often taking 2-3 goes and when it does it is slow to boot.

I have Acronis Drive Monitor installed and it is showing the hard drive at 100% the diagnostic tools on the laptop also say the hard drive has no issues.

The SSD is only 6 months old and to be honest im not sure what is wrong but hope its not an expensive fix.

Anyone got any tips or advice please?

Look at the reviews at that link. Lots of talk of failures. I've had OCZ SSDs in the past which were prone to failure. Backup everything you need off of it and then you can test further to see if there is anything wrong with the disk.

Hi, thanks for replying. Everything is already backed up. The SSD was a replacement for the original hd which failed. It is/was a cheap solution and i hope to replace it in the near future.

I did take it out and put it into a spare laptop which booted up straight away so not sure what to think.

However i updated the BIOS and the issue seems to have gone away for now. Is it possible the old BIOS was the problem? Being honest i have no idea what the BIOS is or does.

    Thanks again.

By any chance, had you updated Win10 to the anniversary edition? Seems to be causing no end of problems.. https://www.thurrott.com/windows/windows-10/76483/microsoft-offers-update-windows-10-anniversary-update-issues-no-not-kind-update
