Hi, i recently bought a Porsche 924. It starts ok when cold but when its hot and turned off it wont start again until it cools down. It wont crank over at all, not even a clicking sound from the starter. I am just wondering has anyone come across this before?

I would say, that more than likely there is some bad connection somewhere. Check the wiring around starter.

I had a similar problem on my car, engine was cranking but it wouldn't fire up. Turned out to be a bad connection at starter motor.

Welcome Noelie - there's a good few 924 owners here!

This is the 924 superthread - worth a read. (In fact this thread might end up in there)
    More here, too.

924's not starting when they're warm/hot is a really common issue. However, I've never heard of the situation where it won't even crank when hot. Usually the engine will turn over and over and (if your battery holds out) will eventually fire. This can be fixed by either a lot of trial and error part replacement, or a simple switch that opens the Cold Start Valve when the engine won't fire (I fitted one).

I'll be interested to hear if any of our other 924 owners have come across this variation of the hot start issue.

Any pics of the new car welcome too. :)

Never heard of a non cranking hot start issue either. You can check out this site too, used to be a great source of info when I had mine... https://porsche924.co.uk/
