Hair extensions...yes or no?

    Hi all,

    Not sure if this would be better asked here or in the beauty forum, but seeing as this is wedding beauty related, I thought this would be the best spot :)

    I'm wondering if any one has any experience with having clip in hair extensions for their wedding? I'm really considering them - my hair is quite long, but is fine, so I wanted to add a bit of volume. I'm just a bit concerned about how natural they look and how visible they might be. If you did use them, was there any particular brand that you used? I would imagine human hair is far better (although a good bit more expensive!)

    Thanks :)

    I used to wear them, and they can look great if done properly. no one used to spot mine because;

    1- I had a great colour match
    2- I had them cut by a hairdresser so they'd blend in with my own hair.

    Mine were mostly for fullness also, and maybe about an aditional 3 inches of length so nothing crazy.

    Only reason I don't wear them anymroe is that I had my hair coloured and they no longer match. I've almost grown out the dyed hair now so hopefully I'll dig them out again in a few months.

    It depends on the style you go for. I had a bumpit style thing under my hair, hard to explain but it was a low upstyle. My sister got clip in extensions as she wanted her hair down with a fuller look. Are you going for a trial with the hairdresser? They might be able to supply or recommend extensions if they think they're necessary.

    I'm similar to you, long(ish) but quite fine. I had a loose curly upstyle for my wedding day and used hair extensions from Penneys as recommended by my hairdresser!

    My hair is dark so it was easy to match, it was just to give extra volume, it wasn't at all noticeable with my own hair settled over the fake hair.

    Cheap as chips, worked very well, easy to remove and didn't damage my hair.

    If you're looking for volume for hair down then I'd go with something else but it worked a dream for volumising an up style!
