Could be worth a look. "a look at the hidden world of the skies above us and the stories of people who spend their life in flight"

Watched it, some very interesting insights, also some more boring parts, the ATC part is very interesting as was the rescue Helicoptor

the rescue chopper crew were certainly at there limits there, fair play to them.

    Just watched it, quite enjoyable.

    Good programme

The SAR flight was un-real , just shows how good those guys are.

Bet the guy who flew across the LGW airspace got a right old bollocking .

Great documentary and I'm glad I caught it. It was just pure chance that I switched over during a lull in Olympics coverage. It looked like a recruitment video for the RAF, which I've no problem with :). Really have to hand it to the SAR guys. I don't think we realise a lot of the time the great work these crews do. The brothers with the aeroplane collection were obviously millionaires! Looking forward to next week's installment!

    Missed it.
Does anybody know if its been repeated during the week - either on BBC 2 or BBC 4?

Don't now, but it is a five-part series so at least you can plan to catch it from now on!

No repeats showing up on the Sky box, but there's no access to the BBC player on Sky, which might make a difference

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Good show, that last SAR was top notch flying from the crew. Good insight of the RAF QRA.

Up on YT at the moment. (may get deleted as some other uploads were)

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

These are the Breton watch guys, so yes they are crazy rich.

Loved the fact they just buzzed about in a Broussard which is a rare enough aircraft ( slightly more common in France where when I was spotting every small airfield has one hanging about somewhere )

Last night's episode was fairly dreadful IMO - you didn't miss a lot.

I felt like it retreaded a lot of ground covered by Cities in the Sky last month. The fear of flying thing for example felt like it was exactly the same story, just rebooted with a female lead ;)

I was actively rooting against that Red Bull pilot by the end of the episode.

He came across as a complete bell end

A pretty poor effort. Silly part about a guy in a field passing his test to obtain a license to operate a drone? I was expecting much better tbh.

Ye, poor show this week. If anyone missed it, you didn't miss much. The only bits I found ok were the ATC stuff and the student pilot bit, with the Red Bull bit being watchable too.

The Red Bull Champion BA Captian, at the end I was surprised there was room in the cockpit for both him and his ego.:D
But to be fair to him, you can't argue with his results, and ego is an important aspect of winning.

The blogger drone guy, if anyone ever wonders why there is a need for rules and regulations for everything, that guy is a the perfect example.

The 'afraid of flying' bit, the less said the better. At least she seemed to get over her fear of cable cars.:D

I'll give this weeks episode a chance though.

I have heard that Piper freight flight so many times over the radio over the years, good to finally see what the guy looks like :D

Any reason why some private pilots choose to wear military style flight suits?

    Looks a bit ridiculous.

Oohh, the Buccaneer in the air race was showing off on take off. Was bringing the gear up and began to sink down to the runway again. Close one!

Fire resistant nomex I believe. I agree with the wearing of them but not all the badges and rank markings etc..

Likewise. When I was doing the atpls last year I used to listen to live ATC while studying, and I used always take notice when causeway 2102 would come on frequency, he was often asked by ATC for his best speed on approach :D

met quite a few of them at an Air racing weekend in Enniskillen a few years back. the Buccaneer nearly went straight back down onto the runway

I would buy that if they were genuine nomex. I've seen lots of these for sale online and for many the price would suggest that they are not nomex.

The same goes for alpha jackets. A mil spec alpha jacket will set you back several hundred pounds. The non fire resistant nylon version can be got for double figures.

I will agree with you, the wearing of rank markings with them is beyond sad.

No idea if the ones in the show were real or not. Kind of defeats the purpose if they are fakes!!
