Hi. So I upgraded my phone yesterday to the Samsung Galaxy S6. I tried to download a ringtone from an external site and a message came up with a vibrate saying my phone was infected with a virus. Did not take much notice as have been using HTC android for years. However today, my mere second day with the phone, every few seconds a pop up ad or virus appears either telling me my phone is infected or it is a porn pop up ad. I have never come across this before and the sheer frequency of it. I cleared my cache and ran avg which could not detect any threats. I turned my phone on and off. So far it has not popped up yet.....is there any way of preventing this. I read about adguard, etc but was unsure whether to download that or 360. Had a nightmare the last few days with my HTC so would be great to be able to clear it. Do not want to do a factory reset as I spent ages yesterday personalising the phone. Thanks.

Don't download sh1te from dodgy websites would be your best advice.
In your app drawer is there any app that shouldn't be there?(It could be a blank icon!)

I know that now but it has already happened. No checked all apps.

What kind of file was the ringtone,a and what site did you get it from?

I checked there and it was mobile ring.net. I just googled 'download Tilted by Christine and the Queens to S6' and that was first site that appeared. It downloaded but was unable to use it in the end. Anyway, touch wood, it seems the steps I took above have stopped the pop up. It was every few seconds before that. Hope this peace lasts.
