Hi, I wouldn't post here only I genuinely need urgent help ... to make a long story short I'm living in my car after shall we say a family disagreement that doesn't look like solving itself anytime soon.

Now here's the part I need help on, I'm 23 years old and have been receiving social welfare payments of €100 per week for the last few months since finishing college whilst living in my parents house (there is no way I can go back after what happened)

Now I know my circumstances have changed and I will have to let them know .. but I am just wondering could anybody tell me what the social welfare would pay towards a flat with me living on my own per month until I get myself back on my feet (I'm in the Limerick area if that helps)

Any help would be much appreciated, Thankyou!

    Essentially No .

You should go to your local county council and explain your situation they might be able to help with some kind of emergency accommodation and refer you to the local homeless unit.

For rent supplement you would need to be accessed as having a housing need a with your local authority and be renting privately for 6 months before getting rent supplement .

Go to your Community Welfare Officer, they will be able to deal with this case. I have been aware of exceptions been made in serious family situations to both the amount of welfare payable and the ability to get rent allowance.
