what colour fascinator with outfit?

I have a very plain simple lilac dress with multi shoes and a multi bag (but these do not match as such). The shoes, I'm not so sure about but after looking everywhere and online the past few weeks, they'll have to do!

I'm stuck as regards the head piece. My head is wrecked trying to match the dress. I thought a multi might be nice but nice ones are non existent and I've trawled on line for those. It's a family wedding and everyone is wearing them so I don't want to stand out (I never bother with them otherwise).

can I just go with black? A small subtle , few feathers one, just cos? Or should I try get the closest shade to the dress?

TIA. I'm exhausted with looking at this stage!

Gold goes well with lilac and very suited to weddings, too.

Why not gold shoes (readily available anywhere) and a simple straw hat?

Why bother with a fascinator? I must admit that personally, I've never gotten the point of sticking feathers in your hair. Perhaps consider a proper hat instead? It might open up more options to you.

I have 2weeks left so not feeling the love for hat shopping but I know what you mean. Wouldn't be so sure about buying a hat online.

I have never worn a fascinator. I wore hats back in the mid-late 90's when they were very popular and never since!

I got sucked in by the shop assistant and my friend who reckoned the dress was too plain and simple for a plain colour/ gold/silver but needed a bold colour such as purple or a deep pink. I thought I got where they were coming from but TBH I have NO interest in fashion so haven't a clue and believed them. I couldn't get purple shoes I liked anywhere or the right shade of pink so I got a multi shoe that has no shade of purple at all but a touch of the pink so really, I don't know. I love the shoes and they match the bag nicely but prob don't match the dress! I'll post a pic...

I wish I had a tiny style bone in my body somewhere but no...I'm just not interested in fashion . YET, I care how I turn out at the same time!

As for the rest of your outfit, I'd be changing either the shoes or the bag

The outfit us lovely as is, no need for a fiascinator at all , spend the money getting your hair find instead. A black fascinator would not be nice.

I'd personally keep the bag and look for a pair of shoes more in line with the bag. A necklace with Jewel colours to match the bag perhaps.

The shoes are great, but just don't match the bag/dress IMO.

I'd keep the shoes! I think they're fab.
And pick either the vibrant green or yellow for accessories.
Lovely bright colours for a summer wedding.

I would change the shoes for something else- plain silver or gold would be fine. I'd keep the bag and pick up one of the colours from it in your shawl. And you could get that colour fascinator too maybe?

I agree with whoever suggested gold shoes. Gold stilettos would work well. I am not a fan of hats but baby blue or straw colour hat might work.

With the same bag, I'd say no.

The bag is a dote but the shoes are sort of a different "vocabulary" even though apparently similar colours.
Plain silver shoes would be fine.

I'd forget about the fascinatior and make a hair appointment instead - having great hair looks better than any fascinator.

I'd keep the bag and ditch the shoes.... the shoes are fine, but just not all together. I'd go for a gold tone, and maybe a matching pashmina or shawl to complete (this is Ireland after all, you might be thankful for it!)

I'd agree with other posters they shoes are slightly letting the side down in the outfit. The rest of it is quite "soft" and they're a very "hard" pattern. Gold or even white shoes could be lovely.

And definitely leave the fascinator and get your hair done fresh for it that morning if you can. The fascinator will get dumped after the ceremony anyways.

I think you're better off investing in a good neutral shoe that you can then redeploy with other outfits.
