Was just reading on theoutmost that theres an anti homophobia demonstration planned this Thursday at 7p.m. outside the Criminal Court of Justice.

Reading the account of what happened sounds horrifying and odd that it wasn't picked up in any Irish news publications. I'd never have gone to the park alone myself especially after 6pm and would think twice about ever doing it now at any time.

Was going to link story but am a newish user so can't but can copy and paste link below:

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

We also have this lad coming to Kilkenny http://www.irishtimes.com/news/social-affairs/kilkenny-protest-over-claim-to-cure-homosexuality-via-prayer-1.2767468

If homosexuality were cured by prayer, we wouldn't be talking about it today and they could concern themselves with real problems such as HIV/AIDS, Poverty and so on. I'll never understand those who think that the gay can be prayed away.

Very poor form by the Gardai failing to take a statement for so long and offering an inconsistent follow up, quite surprised by this to be honest.

I do, however, have to question his outrage at being asked did he do anything to provoke them, that is a legitimate question for the garda to ask.
What she was really saying was that I was in the park meeting guys for sex

No, she wasn't. If that was what she was trying to get at then she would have said "were you in the park to meet guys for sex". She was asking if he did or said anything that may have provoked a reaction from the gang.

I do hope the guys gets past this and they are able to catch the scumbags
