Is the Garth Brookes PLAY/NO PLAY a Clever PR Stunt?

I am starting to wonder if he even intended to play these cancelled gigs. I know nobody in Ireland who gives a toss about him or his 'broken promises' other than a handful of provincial mutton rapists and alcoholic journalists. Never met anyone else who was interested in him or the Croker gigs.

I am now starting to wonder if his managment created a clever scam of getting him all the same PR that a tour here would have garnished for him, without him actually coming and playing here. Everytime some radio or TV personality spoke about these non shows a Garth Brookes song was played and he collected the roayalties and so on.

It is a genius stunt when you think about it. He has every toothless halfwit in the country obsessed over him, but he does not even have to come here.

You could be on to something. I heard that he has friends in low places.

Until very recently, the OP was detained in a secure facility without internet access. Cut them some slack!

I don't think anyone was "obsessed" with seeing him. It just seemed like that as it was such a monumental cock up.

A few radio plays wouldn't have come close to the amount of money the shows would have pulled in. Most the publicity was of the kind that he will probably find it hard to sell out here again. There's more than likely months of planning put into tour dates too, so I'm sure it was a net loss to him.
