Bump Stops

Got my official Audi Diagnostic report alongside full service for a 2007 A4 Quatro: among approximately 5K repairs identified was an advisory for 'rear bump stops perished' with a repair cost of €534.93. Having identified what a 'bump stop' is (plastic/rubber whatsits that sit on end of shocks?) this cost seems amazingly high. Is their replacement especially difficult warranting that cost? It makes me worried about other costs cited (694 for timing belt + water pump; 521 for rocker cover gasket + chain tensioner; 434 for P/S/R coil spring replacement and other items. Do I need to go elsewhere? Thanks

    Not Your Ornery Onager

You would be mad to go to a main dealer with a nine year old car.

You could nearly buy another 2007 A4 for 5k.

I think you already know the answer to that question.

As the other poster above said, it's crazy bringing a car of that age to a main dealer. You end up paying a fortune and realistically the dealer doesn't want those kind of cars in their workshop either.
