Starting a job in the UK - Couple of questions

    Hi guys,

So I am starting a new job in the UK at some point in September and I have a couple of questions.

They require me to present original documentation which proves my right to work in the UK.
I presume my Irish Passport will suffice for this? Even in light of the Brexit referendum?

    They require a P45.
From what I can see, a P45 is a document which is transferable between the UK and the ROI. So I will need my P45 from my previous Irish job? I don't think I have this any longer... either it's lost or they took it from me when I claimed a tax refund, I'm unsure as it was in January I made the tax refund. The only documentation I have of my P45 is my "P45 supplement".. What can I do in this instance?

    Thanks guy!

    Blue

The UK is still firmly part of the EU so your Irish passport is fine

You will be registering for tax for the first time In the UK with HMRC and your Irish tax docs are not interchangeable.

You can get a P45 from your tax office.

    Thanks!

So I will simply need to tell my employer that I need to register for tax in the UK?
