Came across this one. Looks like this offer ends today

Has some mixed to negative reviews on Amazon, doesn't run Netflix out of the box, App as remote can be bit buggy, and controllers sometimes drop being the main ones, but supposedly support team working on all this, also meant to get Android 6 soon too. However some v impressive specs below, runs Kodi well, has the Ouya game store available and have seen you tube where netflix working https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acaSy9eeDEg
    • CPU: 2.7 GHz Snapdragon 805 (quad-core)
    • RAM: 2GB
    • Storage: 16GB
    • Connectivity: Bluetooth 4.1, wireless 802.11ac, gigabit Ethernet
    • Ports: HDMI 1.4 output, USB 3.0, DC Power
    • OS: Android 5.0 Lollipop
All of this is packed into a low-profile, matte-black box that measures 4.1 x 4.1 x 0.7 inch (W x D x H), and similar visually to the hockey puck-shaped Nexus Player released late last year.

So could be the next Blackberry Playbook, or next Nvidia Shield but maybe worth a punt at this pricing level.

I've got an nVidia Shield, I am really happy with it. If this functions as well, it's a good bitta kit for a great price, but I'd hate to be stuck paying a hundred quid for a second controller, that's mental money. Netflix also works out of the box for the Shield and playing games from my big PC in my bedroom never gets old :D

Shield controllers are €50 in comparison and work great on the PC too (connected via their cable) - the Serval controllers don't seem to have that yet.

Still, more good product options in this space means more innovation and improvement. This is definitely a good bargain as long as you know what you're getting.

It's a good price but all the reviews and broad feedback says it's a turkey. I was tempted to give it a go but the feedback is just too poor, which is a shame because from a hardware perspective it's a nice piece of kit.

Do you have Kodi or Plex running on nVidia Shield?

Hey, just wanted to add, so my Forge TV arrived and set up and running and must say very impressed with it. Firstly the Android TV user interface is so much more fliud, less buggy and wf (wife friendly) than any of those chinese android boxed (have used a few) Have Kodi, and Plex set up which run super smooth and fast, sideloading is a breeze with EZ File explorer (using Time machine as server , just seach LAN and open APK and install) was also able to sideload good few non TV - apps including NOWTV , BBC iPlayer, etc (NB to be used with orientation lock app) . Also due to HDMI CEC my sony bravia TV automatically recognises it through the HDMI port meaning my TV remote (which is acutally harmony one) is able to control it perfectly. (There is also an app available free if need to type and has usb to use Air remote if preference)

As using as a media player haven't actually tested the gaming functionality yet and tbh not sure if I will may just sell on the unopened game controllers to make this an even better deal but for those interest, there are a numfer of decent Andoid games available and a Cortex store (which has a selection of Ouya games) tand there is posibility to stream from PC using Moonlight or Remotr apps, or have seen some cloud gaming options via liquid sky https://liquidsky.tv/r/ZUslClw who are currently offering free beta testing. (To note though as menitoned have not used therefore cannot give feedback on any of above)

So granted the Netflix app (which I was able to sideload) won't work due to device restriction but not too concerning as I have Netflix app on Soundsystem/blu ray if needed.

But @ 109 including 2 gaming controllers and free delivery (which are ridiculously priced at 99 each new) and a half the price of the Nvidia shield (which admittedly is a better machine) but slightly above the MXQ's of this world I still put forward this as a decent bargin, which looks to end on 28th Aug (according to website but that has moved before)

Anyways thought I'd provide feedback, but to each their own...

    Rgds JR
